Three months. Three months she'd been carrying this child in her...his kid. And about the same time, she'd found out...he had a girlfriend. Just like that, she was alone, on the curb...with a kid. Talk about a career stopper. She really couldn't believe that she'd all but lost her job over this...not so little baby bump. Sure, she was still dressed fashionably, and even was wearing heels, but the blond surfer....she was lonely. Ange hated admitting weakness, and hated even admitting that she NEED men so close. That she needed someone to hold her, tell her she was pretty...and that they needed her. She WANTED that so badly.
And so, for some reason, she'd come to the Welsh country side, to wander the fields and to let her mind kinda....gather its forces. Cradling the small bump, her feet were bare, the only thing really covering her a white sundress, designed for maternity. Her bare feet took to the earth like they did to sand, and she sighed evenly. She almost wondered... why didn't she move up here? Where things were calm, and she didn't have to worry about people....fucking with her life every five minutes? Where there wasn't any family to fuss...and nothing to hold her back...Why didn't she? Oh yeah...That's right....The beach, the surf...and this baby.
But gods....couldn't she just catch a break in her life? Just this once?

[/b] He watched her, seeing a slight troubled look upon her face and for a strange reason it made his heart wrench at the thought of tears running down her face. He felt a flame of anger burst forth for his brother, but he managed to keep that inside as he kept looking at her. Waiting for what she would say.[/ul]

Her mind had been so lost within itself, that she'd hardly noticed that anyone was near by. This in and of itself was indicative that something was wrong with Angel. When he finally said her name, the young woman started a bit, turning a haunted blue gaze to meet his eyes. A mild flush spread over tanned cheeks, as the latina realized she'd been caught off in her own world like that, and by a man she found attractive, too. Not that she'd said or thought anything of the sort while ....'Dating' Alex...if you could have even CALLED that fucked up relationship dating. No...they'd been fuck buddies, and he'd gotten tired of her. Fuck the fact that she'd fallen for him.
"...I don't think even I knew I'd be here..." Her voice was soft, and the usual vigor was lacking. Giving him a winning smile that would have meant a lot more if she let it touch her tired eyes. Lithe hands protected her stomach carefully, and she smiled, "Though I may take you up on the place to stay. I'm out of work for a little while, thanks to..." Damn...When had she gotten so weak? Since WHEN had she allowed herself to get so broken up over a BOY of all things? She had been the one to tell Alex theyw ere only fuck buddies, right? Even...if she'd made them exclusive....and....wanted- NO. That wasn't allowed. This wasn't...his problem any more. IT was hers. And she was going to face it head-strong.
Finally, she managed a real smile, "It's really nice to see you again , Drystan. Why're you out this way? I was under the impression that not many came out here." Her eyes turned to Uther, and that smile twitched the corner of her full lips a little further, golden hair fluttering about her bared shoulders as she watched, "Not that I mind the company. I'm actually, like....pretty grateful for it about now. Been with no one but family the last...while."

[/b] His eyes moved down to look at her belly and he felt another flash of anger. The git had gotten her pregnant and then had left her. It made things worse in this white knights mind. How he wished he could go over there and just beat Alex to an inch of death, but he knew he couldn't do that, it was unnecessary drama and it wasn't needed, not yet anyways. "My brother is going to take responsibility for your child, is he not Angel? If he gives you problems, I will step in and help you." A curt nod of his head at her other words was given before he realized he needed to soften his mind once more. He would deal with Alex later, right now, Angel was his priority. "It is a small village and most do not venture out if they do not need too. If you like, we could go and get your things and go back to my home so that you can get settled in and I could cook us dinner." Drystan wanted to show Angel that there was somebody out there who would care for her, someone out there who would love her and keep herself. He was very much prepared for it to be him, as well.[/ul]

She flushed a bit, watching the emotions flash over his face like clouds rolling over a sunny sky. He wasn't hiding them too well, but that was okay....Something about the fact that she COULD see them...put Angel at ease. This caused the smile to soften, her blue eyes turning down to her stomach as he spoke. Drystan was such a good guy... and that he was welcoming her to stay with him, even in her condition....it meant the world. Taking a slow breath, she smiled a bit shyly, ".....I would...Really like that ,Drystan...I could use a place to get away from everything....and the countryside here ....it's just perfect." And then he brought up Scot taking responsibility for the kid. Cradling it again, her face fell.
"...He's said he will...But I don't want him to. I don't want him in my baby's life." She whispered this, her eyes dark and cold. "....I....honestly would almost RATHER take care of this baby on my own....I don't want his influence...." She knew it was terrible, but....This child was HERS as far as she was concerned. Not his. Never would be his. Smiling shyly at him, her heart soared at the thought of just getting to go to a home....relax....have some nice food. It would be heaven after the hell she'd been through. Toying with her hair again, she nodded, slowly, that smile curving up her full lips, an honest, warm look.
"That.....sounds amazing. I've got my stuff at the in down the way. It's not too much, but it's....my things." Her eyes met his once more, and the light that had begun to roll back the heavy clouds of thought peeked through, "And....I could help you cook, if you'd like. I'm okay in the kitchen, as long as it's with sweets. I'm afraid I'm not much good with anything else." Bending slightly, she lifted her shoes, then looked back at him again, her other hand gently holding her stomach, "It sounds.....utterly like heaven."

[/b] He was hoping that she wouldn't think that too forward of him, but he wanted to help her. He was such a white knight in this area, wanting to be there to shield and protect her, to show her that she didn't have to be so strong all the time because he would be there to catch her when she fell. He cleared his throat and nodded his head, the smile still gently upon his lips. "I would love to try your cooking, though allow me to be the one to take care you of. I wish to show you the welsh hospitality." He held his arm out to her, for her to slip her own into it before he spoke again. "We can go to the inn and get your things and then take a cab to my home. Shall we?"[/ul]

Angel felt that smile lodging itself on her face, since he was acting in such a way. Her face was mildly flushed, a pretty blush on softly tanned features. Stunning sapphires watched Drystan, and she nodded slowly, "I....Would love the help, Drystan....To be honest with you....I don't want my family. But I don't want.....I c-c..." Taking a slow breath, she managed, "I can't do it alone." Such a hard phrase for Lyndsey to say. That she COULDN'T.
Gently reaching out, her fingers slipped against his arm, and it settled carefully in the crook, the tips resting on the inner bend, "....Okay. You can be the one to take care of me...this time." Again, this brought a soft blush to her cheeks, and she found herself looking up at him from under her lashes, "That...honestly sounds perfect. Let's go." Her tone had lightened considerably, and it gently lay her head against his arm. Could she have asked for more?

[/b] He was glad he was able to stop himself there. To keep himself from telling her he wanted to help through everything, perhaps he would tell her that later, but now, it just seemed too soon. Feeling her fingers gently brush over his skin sent a soft tingle down his spine and his smile seemed to grow ever so softly as he turned his head down to gaze at her again. She was very beautiful, not many women he had met had a tan like hers and her blond hair complimented her features so wonderfully. How Alex had just thrown a woman like this to the wayside, Drystan would never know, he just truly knew that his brother was a true idiot now. But, it was fortunate for him that Alex had done what he did, otherwise he would not have the chance that he did now. He began to walk through the fields, going at a slow and steady pace, his eyes continuing to glance at her as they moved. He could not help but let his eyes glance to her lips, seeing how they curved into a smile because of him. The soft contours of her lips, the plush and soft flesh of her lips as well. He felt a sudden urge to feel it against his own, knowing the feel would be wonderfully soft and he was sure she would taste just as sweet as well. Drystan was forced to push away all those thoughts as the Inn had drawn near and he lead her in, though paused when he realized he did not know which room was her's. He glanced down at her, watching her before he let his arm move towards the hallway that lead to the rooms. "After you, my dear." The words felt so comfortable, so did the feel of her arm against his.[/ul]

She could feel the shiver, and couldn't help the happy shiver that met her own form. She could tell that Drystan was looking, was appreciating the way SHE looked. Something about the way he looked at her made her heart race faster...and her face flush. She couldn't manage to hold his gaze, and then she murmured softly, "Okay..." Leading him to her room, she opened the door, with a small key. It was meticulous. The only thing that was out of place was a small suitcase...that had almost all her stuff, and a picture of the Ocean. One she'd put up. Moving to her things, she carefully rolled up the poster, taking it under her arm, and then took the medium sized case.
"That's it." Turning to look at him, she smiled. Hearing him call her 'my dear' and feeling him so close...it was as natural as breathing. She felt like it was almost dangerous how close they were attaching...so quickly. Even so, she almost WANTED Drystan to tell her he'd be the one to help her....to help her get over everything....to help her raise her son. The girl didn't know how, but she KNEW this child was a boy, "Everythign I brought."

[/b] He knew she'd miss the ocean, so being able to visit his own coast could probably make things easier for her in that aspect. He couldn't stop himself from moving towards her and he gently placed his hand onto her right arm. He let his hand slip down her arm until he had grasped the suitcase and took it from her, but he did not move away from her either, instead he locked eyes with her and found some nerve that had arouse that forced his lips to part and ask a question, one that many would have found very strange and forward and he hoped she wouldn't push him away and call him a creep for it either. "Angel, may I kiss you?" Not many men asked if they could kiss a girl before doing it. He felt most comfortable doing this then just going for a kiss. He waited, his body tense as he found he was holding his breath.[/ul]

Her lips parted as he offered to show her his coast line. Blue eyes lit up in eager anticipation, a she thought of seeing the beautiful Wales coast. Oh, that would be amazing, ad the thought had her mind drifting....until....she felt fingers on her arm. The slow movement of his fingertips down her right arm sent pleasant tingles moving down her spine, and when those eyes met his.....they just.....didn't move. The two were standing there....closer than she would have normally been comfortable, and....watching eachother.
The first thing she noticed was that within her, there was the urge to just grab the man, yank him to her, and kiss him. The second thing she noticed was that he was about to ask her something. Looking him in the eye, her lips parted, and a single slow breath of surprise made its way past her mouth. Kiss her? He....Why would he want to kiss her? Why...would he want to even do this to someone like her? But instead of asking all of these questions, she found herself speaking....
"....Please." How did she say that? Why...how could she manage...? But she DID want him to kiss her. She wanted to know what it felt like. Her fingers slowly moved to touch his arms, both hands resting there, "I...Yes....You can kiss me....."

Her own breath had stopped, and she hadn't realized how fast her heart had been going until she felt her body press against his. Hands slid up around his neck, and she felt like she was a puzzle piece sliding into the right fit. It was a silly, romantic notion, she knew, but still, it was kinda nice to think that they were MEANT to fit together. Listen to her. It had to be the pregnancy, right? She didn't believe in Fate. Not at all. Leaning up, as he leaned down, the brush wasn't enough, and when he kissed her back, she let her own press back. His lips were...soft, and felt right against hers, like she should have done this years ago.
A shudder of happiness ran against her body, and the touch of his only mildly rough hand against her cheek...well, it made her very happy. Letting her lips part slightly into the kiss, she shifted a bit, her head tilting the side to allow this to be...just...a little more natural. Angel Jones may not have believed in Fate, but at this moment, she let her doubts be waylaid, and just leaned into Drystan. There was something perfect there....she didn't want to let go of.
Slightly pulling back, she wanted to say something...but her mind was drawing a blank. For the first time, Ange was speechless with a boy, and the fact was, she didn't care. So her lips went back against his, and she let him hold her....content that at this moment, everything was right with the world.

[/b] His voice was soft as he said this and then he realized they had been in the middle of doing something before the kiss. He cleared his throat some before, reluctantly letting her go. "Instead of fixing your dinner, how about I take you out on a date." He had the perfect spot in mind for it already, he just needed her reply. As he waited, he picked up her suitcase once again, making sure he was the one who carried it. He then turned his attention back upon her as he waited.[/ul]

She let out a tiny sigh of relief when his tongue gently brushed hers, her body nearly falling into his, and her arms gently tightening a bit. He tasted.....earthy. That was about the best way Angel's mind could put it, and it was one of those things that she just deemed as 'right'. With Drystan holding her against him, and his kiss holding long as he deepened it til both of them had light heads, well, Angel was positively giddy. Even when Alex had kissed her, it hadn't felt like that....Hell...No one had left her feeling that way.
When he said she was beautiful, Angel fought back the tiny tears that threatened to prick their way into existance, and the argument that longed to pass her lips. Sure, she was pretty outside, but Ange still had a damn hard time accepting herself. Instead, though, she listened to the rest, moving to stand beside him. A date....a real and proper date....Since when had she been on one of those last? Oh gods, it had been to long. So, the only thing Angel Jones, a usually eloquent young woman with plenty to say, could find to push past her currently unwilling to cooperate mouth was, "I'd love that."
