BREAKING NEWS!
Taiwan Paranoid? It seems that even though ties between China and Taiwan have gotten better, Taiwan is still paranoid. They have plans to buy military weapons from the USA, to boost their defense. However, the list of weapons that they need have not been finalized. Though they have formally been governing on their own in 1949, Mainland China still refuses to recognize their independence, and has since then created tension between the two countries. It is also notable that the missiles pointed right to Taiwan has increased, from 300 in 2001 to 1,400 in 2008. However, because of this move, China has now turned its anger on America. They say cuts of military and security ties will happen, if this is going to be carried out. Read more of the news here.[/blockquote]

To be Against, or not to be Against
-Latest Update!-July 22, 2010It seems as though China, North Korea's strongest ally, who had kept silent on the issue regarding the sinking of the Cheonan which is allegedly accused on the Northern part of the peninsula, is now pressured by the US to take action and pressure North Korea. The meeting that will happen in Vietnam on Friday, July 23, is designed to solve the tension in the Korean peninsula, among other things. Clinton said that she will appeal to Beijing to ask for what other sanctions they can impose on North Korea. China has been accused of "going easy" on North Korea, because North Korea counts on China as its political and economic ally. A number of countries, including the United States, and especially Japan, have imposed a number of tough sanctions on the country, though this is only connected to the governing elite. The sanctions do not apply to ordinary North Koreans, who she said has suffered long under the tyrannical regime. Read more of the news here.US-Chinese Tension Arise! Due to the recent berating of North Korea on the issue of sinking the Cheonan, and also due to the agreement between the US and Taiwan over selling military weapons, China and the US' relationship have experienced severe tension. While US has done its best on imposing sanctions and speaking against North Korea, while at the same time rubbing salt into the wound by declaring support for South Korea, China has refused to neither blame nor support its North Korean ally, which is also what is putting Sino-American ties in extreme tension. Aside from this, the objection of China against military activities to be done on its Yellow Sea in an attempt to solve the Korean Peninsula tension is another cause for the tension between the two superpowers. On top of this, the US is also threatened by China's growing naval power in the region, which the US currently dominates. Read more of the news here.[/blockquote]

So I haven't been paying attention to Chinese news... xD;;; I'm sorry, guys. I'll try to get updated again and post something here as soon as possible... But the only thing I know right now, from glancing at recent headlines and stuff like that, is that Japan and China seem to have some sort of disagreement.
Oh, and the fact that China just became the world's second largest economy and overtook Japan, too.
I promise to pay equal attention to my characters, from now on... xD;;; It seems I've been paying too much attention to North Korea. >w>;

Okay, so recent events have been that China and Japan are having some sort of territorial spat over some islands. That's all that's worth mentioning.
Oh, and they're being grilled over the Korean situation, too:
