Evita Duarte de Perón -República de Argentina-
~*~
" Says she talks to angels they call her out by her name oh yeah, she talks to angels says they call her out by her name
She keeps a lock of hair in her pocket she wears a cross around her neck yes the hair is from a little boy and the cross is someone she has not met not yet"
Name: Evita Duarte de Perón Origin: Buenos Aires, Argentina Gender: Female Orientation: Bicurious Religion: Catholic/Incan Pagan Languages Spoken: Quercha, Spanish, English, bits and pieces of French Birthday: February 23 Age: 22
Personality: Eva at first impression appears to be...Intimidating (believed to be because of her delinquent background on top of how she carries herself). Being a strong woman, most either don't know how to handle her or when they try they can't. She has a cool and calm demeanor around strangers and acquaintances, usually quick with a sarcastic remark once something begins to irritate her. Despite her cool outward demeanor, once one is able to get to know her and gain her trust, she is a warm, maternal, intelligent, and open-hearted person.
Proud and stubborn to the core, her pride has more than once been taken for arrogance. Despite not being one to cross, she holds respect in high regard, you respect her and expect to be treated with the same type of treatment in return. Despite keeping her emotions bottled away, one sure fire way to know what she's thinking is to look into her expressive eyes.
Strong and a firecracker type of woman, the type that most don't know how to handle. She runs her life much like a circus, with her being the ringmaster. All eyes on her in the center of the ring, just how she likes it. She is a put-on-a-show type of woman, a performer with her relations and her government being her three-rings. With being as fiery and passionate as she is, she makes it harder for others to keep up.
Evita once could have been considered to be a diva, she once used what she had to the best advantage possible to get what she needed done. She has had a string of failed or bad relationships, she later began to realize that her heart wasn't available to give since it had already belonged to another. A relationship with her has been said to be called a "tango to Hell," but those who have tangoed with her claim that they can say that they have tangoed at all with this particular woman.
Aside from appearances and though she would never admit it, she is close to only a select few. Fiercely protective of those she cares about, she would do whatever it takes to keep those certain people safe even if it puts her own life on the line. She believes firmly in the saying of "keep your friends close, and your enemies closer", a belief that she continues to hold onto. She holds a policy that trust isn't something that is automatically gained, it is to be earned. Once one loses this woman's trust, then she will not give you another chance to redeem yourself and prove yourself otherwise.
For all of her roughness and strength, she is sensitive as well as a dreamer. It is very rare that she will ever show this side to anyone save for people she is close too, seeing this sensitivity as a form of weakness if anyone sees it that she doesn't want to see.
Recently she has begun to smooth out her hard edges and deal with her rough past and issues and has begun to move on from them. She has begun to acknowledge that for once...She needed to do something for herself so she could find her own happiness.
Appearance: Evita stands at 5'8", 5'10" or taller when wearing heels. She has dark brown curly hair with a black tint to it that falls to her shoulders, in her hair she wears a red hairband with what appears to an exotic red flower on the side of it to make her dark garnet eyes stand out even more. Depending on the weather or where she is at decides what she wears, though no matter what she is usually seen in skirts and heels. She in recent years has also taken to wearing darker and bolder make-up, dark red lips and dark eyes. On her chest is an elaborate, crimson heart tattoo, the tattoo rests near her own heart, so she knew it actually did have meaning behind it. Always attached to her side is a black, leather whip worn over the years from use. Around her neck she wears two necklaces: a silver, elaborately carved oval locket and a gold cross. Up until recently, she wore a diamond wedding ring. Now where that ring was, it has been replaced with a garnet one.
Relationships:
-England: Argentina and England have a complex and complicated relationship. They are rivals in everything that they do, yet at the same time they have something much more going on below the surface. England is one of the main people that Eva really likes to harass and poke fun at, however the two have a deep friendship and will always have each others' backs if anything ever happened to one or the other. England is the only person she has ever really and truly loved, as well as saying that he holds her heart in the palm of his hand. She has since moved without as much of a word to anyone and is currently living with him.
-Belize: Her only son, despite not having seen the boy since he was a baby because of mitigating circumstances of the time. She kept the fact that she had a son a secret for several centuries, despite knowing one day that the information would come out. With the help from her family, she is sure that he will be found. Despite such, she is scared about meeting the boy and about the potential reaction that he will have both to her and his father even though she still feels that he is better off without them.
-America: Her ex, and one of her closest friends. The two poke fun and harass each other in public, and have serious conversations when they're alone. She trusts him with her life and many of her secrets that she dared to tell no one else He is one of her main confidants, as she is the same for him. Eva sees America like a little brother, her very hyper little brother that she always has to watch over to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. She is happy to see that he has grown up, settled down, and started a family.
-Hiroshima: With the boy always being around and asking for her advice and help, she has taken him under her wing and considers him to be part of the family. Despite being rough around the edges, she sees her younger self in him. She knows he's a good kid, he just needs to learn to let people in.
-Columbia: Her hermano that she doesn't know what she would do without. Being as level-headed as he is, he has helped her keep her sanity over the centuries through all of her political problems, as well as the problems within the family. Manuel is one that she is close too, one that she feels as though she can fully trust with anything and everything.
-Venezuela: Her hermana, like Manuel, she doesn't know where she would be without her. She has helped her so much during the course of the centuries and helped with matters at home whenever she had to be away. She is grateful for her, as well as feels as though she can trust her sister with anything and everything.
-Chile: Her sworn rival in anything and everything. She thinks he an egotisical asshole who needs to be knocked down a few pegs...Or to the bottom of the totem pole to learn some form of humility and humbleness. Put simply: She hates his guts.
-Ecuador: One of her other little brothers that she essentially raised, she still harbors that need to watch over and protect him should the need arise despite knowing that he has grown up. She doesn't agree with some of his choices, nor does she like that he feels that he has to watch over and protect his older sister. However, she understands now that it's because she is his sister and that if they don't look out for each other, who would?
-Spain: Even though she fought for and won her independence from Spain, she still considers him to be her Papa. He raised her after he landed on her shores and found her playing in the trees near the Incan city where she lived. During her delinquent days was when she really began to rebel against Spain, even taking the side and becoming close allies with England at first more out of spite for her overbearing Papa. They are more on good terms now, but there still is that underlying feeling of rebellion against him. To this day however, there is still that strong sense of underlying loathing toward Antonio despite his attempts to get back into her good graces.
-France: From the time the two talked for the first time, she had no problems with this man and had since become good friends with.
-North Ireland: She has started to grow attached to the little girl, meeting her during the early years of living with England after the Peronist years to regain her health and to get out of the turmoil going on in her country. Eva has been correlated to be a mother-figure toward North, which she is more than happy to be. She dotes on the girl, treating her much like her own daughter. She is fiercely protective of this girl, and would protect her at all costs.
-Gaza: The other girl that she has come to see to be like a daughter to her. She knows of her past and of her conflicts, despite cultural barriers tries she to get her to be less shy and be more open. She is fiercely protective of Aani as well, and would not hesitate to strike down anyone who hurts her...Or tries.
-Austria: A man that despite having only met recently, she has found that the two have a lot in common both in interests and situations. He is a man that despite not having known him for very long, she feels as though he can be trusted and has become a sort of confidant and friend.
-Vatican City: She is conflicted when it comes to this boy. He is a boy, however at the same time, he is the Holy Vatican. Being Catholic herself, she worries about the boy whenever she sees him especially with the chance of him getting hurt and she getting in trouble with the Church in response. Despite all of her conflicted feelings, she tries to look after him as best as she can when he's around her as well as being unable to stop herself from doting on him.
-Mexico:
History: (Will be adding onto this)
Nomadic tribes appeared around 4000 B.C. in the far south of the country, though Eva herself wasn't born until 1000 B.C. In 500 B.C. with the development of irrigation, farming settlements began to emerge with the nomads beginning to settle more in the west and northwest. Tribes such as the Cienaga, Aguada, and Santa Maria settled in the lands by growing corn and other crops in 1 A.D. Metalwork in 600 soon led to the emergance of more urban settlements all over the country in 850.
It wasn't until 1480 until any invaders tried to take over, with the Incan empire conquering the northwestern division and holding onto the territory until 1516 when Alfonso de Solis became the first European to enter and explore the territory in search for gold and riches. However, with new diseases being brought over and wars between the Spanish and the Incans, the Argentine Incan Empire fell to the Spaniards in 1516. Another Spanish explorer became the first to explore the Rio de la Plata area also in 1516 in search of gold, however is killed and was possibly eaten by either the native Charrúa, Querandí or Guaraní. All through the rest of the 1500's, the Spaniards continued to come and began to colonize the country, with Santa María del Buen Ayre (now Buenos Aires) being founded in 1536, abandoned in 1541 after continuous attacks of local Argentine tribes, and reinstated as a permanent colony in 1580 as part of the Virreinato del Perú agreement from 1542.
Spanish missionaries as well as Portugese explorers made most of the 1600s, the Spanish bringing Catholic teachings to the indigineous people while the Portugese built a trading post running between Rio de la Plata and Buenos Aires. Then in 1776, the Virreinato del Río de la Plata compromising of modern-day Argentina, Uruguay, Peraguay, and Bolivia was established; making Buenos Aires the capital.
From 1800-1825, came the only period when the Spanish colonies could actually get along with agreeance to embark in a revolution to gain independence from Spain. British forces from 1806-1807 tried to invade Rio de la Plata to establish control over Spain's southern colonies as part of the Napoleonic Wars, however were forced back by local militias and civilians.
With the news of Napoleon invading Spain in 1810, led to events leading up to the week-long May Revolution from May 18 to May 25 1810 and is long considered to be the spark that began the Argentine War for Independence. Uprisings occured until the first full battle, the Battle of San Lorenzo in 1813. The war continued, on July 9, 1816, the Argentine Congress formally declared indepence from Spain and fully won independence after the Battle of Cepeda in 1820. Spain on February 23, 1820 signed the Treaty of Pilar, formally creating the República de Argentina with England recognizing Argentine independence in 1825. However right after the war ended, came the Argentina-Brazil War with the declaration to break away from Brazil, the Battle of Ituzaingó causing a major turning point in Argentine favor and leading to Argentine victory in 1828. Up until 1900, the Argentine were settling into their new-found independence, with the Constitution of Argentina being signed in 1853. However, conflict continued to arise as the 20th century closed in. In particular with the founding of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) in 1890.
Democracy for men was instated in 1912 by Sáenz Peña Law, which led to the eventual election of UCR Radical, Hipólito Yrigoyen in 1916. Uprisings and protests began, calling for reform within the government. With the rise of the uprisings in the 1920's, it foreshadowed the upcoming problems for the country.
Military coups began in 1930, desposing Yrigoyen and beginning the Infamous Decade (Around the time when Eva had gone into hiding, mostly for her own safety). Through the course of ten years, uprisings and civil war between the lower class people and the military were occurring as well as many power shifts with different military leaders all with clashing views and ideas for the country. Argentina continued with the non-intervention of WWII in 1943 with the 'National Revolution' of military leaders who for the first years of the war were stationed in Italy. With the San Juan Earthquake, Colonel Juan Peron took his chance and worked to lay seize to power at the end of 1943. (With several years before, she had heard about Juan Peron and saw her opportunity to come out of hiding and take back her country under the guise of a human however at a great personal cost.) Argentina formally joined WWII on the side of the Allies in 1945 and was admitted as a founding member of the United Nations that same year.
Eva and Colonel Peron met on January 22, 1944 at a charity event and married early the following year. The GOU (United Officers Group) had a great influence over the Argentine government at the time, and felt as though Peron was gaining to much power, to quickly. Peron was arrested on October 9, 1945 only to be later released six days due to the protests of their followers, their "descamisados" and was elected president in 1946 and later re-elected in 1951. In 1947, Eva Peron left to Europe for the "Rainbow Tour," saying it to be a non-political goodwill tour. She was well-received in Spain, however wasn't in Switzerland as well as Southern Italy. She was well-received in France, however her health had begun to fail her so her trip was cut short without the planned visit to the United Kingdom. With her help, on August 21, 1946 a bill for women's suffrage was pushed through the Argentine Senate however it wasn't sanctioned by the Representatives until September 7, 1947.
In order to try and relieve some of the hardships over the lower classes, the Fundación María Eva Duarte de Perón was created on July 8, 1948. Donations were asked to be made by the people, within the first couple of years the intake had gotten up to over thirty million pesos that went back out for the building of schools, hospitals, scholarships, giving of goods and other needs to the lower classes. Because of all of her work among the poor and the countless hours that she put into the Foundation, the people began to regard her as a saint, beginning to call her Santa Evita. With the rallied calls of the people for her to accept the candidacy for Vice President of the country and run alongside her husband in 1951. However, her health was declining and she knew it had been for several years. Juan Peron was re-elected on June 4, 1952 and a few days later in an official ceremony, Eva was given the title of "Spiritual Leader of the Nation." She passed away on July 26, 1952; many say that when she died, the whole nation died. (After this, Eva was taken to England so she could recover and get her health back as well as stay there until things settled in her country again especially with knowing full-well she would more than likely work herself to death again trying to fix all of the problems that were soon to come.)
With Eva's death (and leaving of the country for her own safety and health reasons) was when the problems in the country really began to skyrocket. Juan Peron was ousted and exiled in a 'Liberating Revolution' military coup in 1955, jump-starting more protests, military coups, etc. With the ousting of Peron, Arturo Frondizi took over and was later ousted in 1962 by military coup. General Juan Carlos Onganía assumed power in 1965 and repressed many different political parties, not three years later In the Cordobazo popular protests of May 1969, thousands of citizens routed the army and police and took control of Córdoba for two days. From 1970-76, Civil conflict and terrorist attacks, principally by left-wing Montoneros and Ejército Revolucionario del Pueblo, though the paramilitary Argentine Anticommunist Alliance tried to shut them down. In 1973, Juan Peron returned to Argentina from his exile in Spain thus leading to the Ezeiza massacre where the Argentine Anticommunist Alliance were waiting for him and fired into the crowd. With the death of Juan Peron not a year later, his second wife Isabel took over as president of the country. However in 1976, she was disposed as President by way of military coup.
Between 1976-1983, the Proceso de Reorganización Nacional led a state-sponsored period of violence later called the Dirty War in an effort to squash political and armed uprisings against Jorge Rafael Videla's military dictatorship as part of Operation Condor. It is said that over 30,000 people were tortured, disappeared, or were executed by the government during this period, many of them have never been found. Victims of the violence included several thousand left-wing activists, including trade unionists, students, journalists, Marxists and Peronists guerrillas and sympathizers. The violence continued until rule was given back to the civilians in 1983.
In 1978 as part of Operation Soberania when the Argentine government refused the binding Beagle Channel Arbitration, leading to a plan to invade Chile. In 1982, Leader General Leopoldo Galtieri sent troops to the Falkland Islands to start the Falkland Wars with the UK, lasting only 74 days with Argentine surrender of the territories. By the end of 1983, the military government collapsed with the election of Radical Raúl Alfonsín as president.
By 1984, things began to slowly get better. The Treaty of Peace and Friendship of 1984 between Chile and Argentina was signed, ending the border dispute for the Picton, Nueva, and Lennex islands. Between 1987-88, there were three revolts by military mutineers, Carapintada with all three being quickly quelled.
By 1989-1999, more political turmoil came about in the forms of protests, hunger protests, and political party realignments. In 1991, Argentina became the only Latin American country to take part in the Gulf War as well as Argentina, Brazil, and Chile signing the Mendoza Declaration to ban chemical warfare. Bill Clinton in 1998 designated Argentina as one of America's non-NATO allies.
In 2005, relations between Catholic Church and government tensed and broke because of disagreements over the issue of abortion as well as in 2007 with Catholic priest Christian Von Wernich being found guilty and given a life sentence for his involvement in the Dirty War.

Yes! An approval from me! The personality is quite detailed, though I'm sure it will be developed as you roleplay with her. The description of her appearance, as well, gives adequate information on how she looks like. Not to mention, the lists of likes and dislikes are pretty much extensive and covers everything <3
SO! APPROVAL! STAMP ONE!
