This came up last night when me, Czech, and another friend of ours were talking about last night about what alignments we are. So I thought...Why not figure out what we are and our characters are? XD Here's the definitions of each:
_________
Lawful Good- Good without compromise. You follow almost all rules, save for those that are clearly detrimental to people, and can be occasionally overzealous in your need to share your idea of “good“ with others. Lawful Good combines honor and compassion, but also restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.
Characters:
Neutral Good- The most common type of good. You’re an all-round nice guy/girl who still generally follows the rules, but aren’t afraid of bending them when the situation warrants. Neutral Good means doing what is good without bias for or against order, but it also advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.
Characters:
Chaotic Good- The rebel. You hate rules and restrictions, but are still an overall decent and even helpful person. Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible! Chaotic Good combines a good heart with a free spirit, but it can also disrupt the order of society and punish those who feel the need for a social framework around themselves.
Characters: America, South Korea, Argentina
Lawful Neutral- Laws and rules must be obeyed so that order can be maintained. Generally less concerned with being “nice” or even “mean”; all that matters is keeping things organized. Lawful Neutral means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot, but you also seek to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.
Characters: Germany
True Neutral- Kind of a hard one to narrow down. People who are true neutral tend to either be those who are simply too lazy to care about stupid things like law and order, or good and evil; either that, or they bounce around the moral alignment scale so much (*cough*Lelouch*cough) they become sort of hard to classify. There are those who believe in actively keeping a balance between good, evil, law, and chaos, but they are very rare. Neutral means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion, but it also represents apathy, indifference, and a lack of conviction.
Characters:
Chaotic Neutral- Freedom without restriction, including (and perhaps especially) useless morals. Tends to be the alignment of crazy people (who aren’t complete psychopaths…yet), those too lazy to care about morality (more so than certain True Neutrals), or people who are just enough of a jerk without being totally evil. Chaotic neutral represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal, but also seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.
Characters: Washington D.C.
Lawful Evil- Tyrants. Rules and laws are awesome, especially when you’re the evil overlord making them. They tend to have twisted code of honor…but that doesn’t prevent them from still doing horrible things, which they then casually justify to both themselves and everyone else. Lawful evil represents methodical, intentional, and frequently successful evil.
Characters: Russia
Neutral Evil- This is another one that’s hard to classify. Basically, you’re evil in the sense that you’re just a jerk among jerks, without feeling the need to justify your vileness or go on random rampages of evilness. You’re just an all around bad person. Neutral evil represents pure evil without honor and without variation.
Characters:
Chaotic Evil- The psychopath alignment. You live to cause chaos and destruction wherever you go. A good day for you is getting to both physically and mentally molest everyone and everything around you. Chaotic evil represents the destruction of not only of beauty and life, but also of the order on which beauty and life depend.
