Personality:
While a fashionable young woman, Meimei is rarely seen with overly exposed skin. She does like to be in fashion, but out of reasons for comfort (and maybe a bit of shyness), she likes it to be conservative and body-concealing.

These days, it seems she gets nervous very easily. She’s very easily startled or scared, and dislikes when people get angry at her – it just adds to her nerves and makes the situation all the worse. Not the most dominant nation in the world, she tends to give in easily to other people, especially family, and gets labeled as a doormat or pushover for these reasons. Disliking conflict as well (there’s far too much in the past and even now for her liking), she goes back into her ‘shell’ when confronted: her head is lowered, her posture becomes submissive, and she rarely speaks if at all.

On almost any other day, this island nation can be called an introvert, but not excessively so. She prefers to keep to herself and her big, dysfunctional Asian family and, despite clinging to China or perhaps Kiku when he’s around, is determined to prove that she is self reliant and deserving of her independence.

Appearance:
Taiwan is a petite young woman, standing at a mere 5’1” (having grown from her former 4’9”) with long, dark brown hair. She has wide, doe-like brown eyes which are registered lethal weapons can easily betray how she is feeling. Meimei is normally seen in conservative, traditional Chinese clothing, preferring a peach-coloured qipao or other such dresses in understated colours. She never wears anything flashy, the most that can be called an accessory being the flowers she always pins into her hair: the symbols of Danshui harbor.

Relationships:


China: Her eldest brother, her Gege. To be quite honest, she’s feared him in the past; then again she’s shifted ‘occupations’ so many times she can only say that China influenced her the most. Deep down, though, she loves him as a little sister should, but it’s undercut by her wariness of him.

Japan: Her other brother, who she lived with after the end of the Sino-Japanese war up until World War II ended. She loves him dearly, and any trigger of violence against him will set off her rare flares of temper. She wants to pay him back, as it were, for the protection he’s provided her with over the years, but she does not seem to have the nerve nor the strength to do so…

Vietnam: A woman whom Meimei admires greatly. Her strength is an inspiring factor, moreso than others, rivaling her admiration of Japan. One could even say that this young island nation has a crush on Minh – displayed by nervous fluttering in her stomach, in the flush that covers her cheeks. In short, this woman makes Meimei feel stronger.

Hong Kong: They're almost like blood siblings, having grown up under the same roof with the same 'gege'. She thinks he's a sweet boy and a great listener, and someone she's happy to be so close to. She feels as though she can tell him anything.

Tends to speak Taiwanese rather than Mandarin, unconsciously, around China. It's passive-aggressive of her, really.
