"Got to fight another fight - I gotta run another night
Get it out - check it out
I'm on my way and I don't feel right
I gotta get me back - I can't be beat and that's a fact
It's OK - I'll find a way
You ain't gonna take me down no way
Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it
Don't push me - I'll fight it
Never gonna give in - never gonna give it up no
If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride
You can't come uninvited
Never gonna give in - never gonna give up no
You can't take me I'm free"
Name: Alfred F. Jones
Origin: Washington D.C., America
Gender: Male
Orientation: Bisexual
Religion: Catholic
Languages Spoken: English and bits and pieces of a lot of others.
Birthday: July 4
Age: 22
Personality: Alfred F. Jones is a man that may appear to be simple in the way of being dense, derp, and have a one-track mind. He can be loud and at times can be annoying to other countries, but he makes up for it with his bright, ever-present smile and carrying laugh. He's gung-ho about what he believes in, and will barrel into a situation without thinking if it's something that he thinks needs to be taken care of immediately. He has a hero complex, feeling as though he is the one who needs to carry and solve all of the world's problems. Eternally a leader, whenever something arises he takes it upon himself to lead to get the task done. He has gotten to be more mature through the years of having to raise his son alone, especially growing near the end of WWII. He begins to act like less of a teenager, and more of a responsible adult. Despite all dense and derpy appearances, Alfred actually is fairly intelligent and just acts stupid most of the time just to keep others off guard.
Alfred is a family-oriented man. He believes that family is one of the most important things that a person can have, in particular after having to deal with his disastrous break from England when it came to his independence. With his close relationships with his states, he is either considered to be a either a father or an older brother figure. He also now considers England to be more of a father or older brother even more so now that he has gotten older, and keeps in constant touch with his two brothers. Relationships with his brother Matthew for a while were more strained, but the two are beginning to work through their differences and get close again. While also having his states to look after, he also has his son, Daniel Conner and his wife.
There is a side of Alfred that many people don't see because of his loud, outgoing nature in the public's eye. He can be very insecure and has a bad habit of keeping all of his problems to himself, just giving a poker face with a smile to the world to make them think that nothing is bothering him. He bottles up his problems and insecurities, until it finally becomes too much; usually ending up in holing himself in his office or going to his favorite bar. He knows it's not healthy, but he would much rather deal with his problems on his own than have others, especially those he cares about, worrying about him.
Appearance: When he isn't in his military uniform, he likes to dress more like a college student would. Jeans, tennis shoes, and usually layered t-shirts. Though lately, Alfred has been wearing at least more semi-professional clothes such as collared shirts, a loose tie, and jeans or slacks. Though no matter what, he always wears his brown leather bomber jacket with the number 50 for each of his states over whatever he is wearing. Since Alfred can't see well, he wears a pair of glasses that were given to him by Texas.
Relationships:
-Lithuania:
-Washington D.C.: His one and only flesh-and-blood son. Despite Daniel being an accident, the anxiety of becoming a father when he wasn't ready to be one quickly changed once the boy was born. After the Stock-Market crash and his mother being taken away, he raised the boy on his own with some help from his brother and England. As he grew, he began to see just how intelligent Daniel actually is. There are issues that the two don't see eye-to-eye on such as nuclear disarmament, he can tell that there are things that Daniel is hiding from him...What he doesn't know and has been trying to find out.
-England: Alfred considers Arthur to be his old man, having always been more of a father-type of figure rather than an older brother. He hasn't forgotten the Revolution or what it did to their relationship, he never will. While it's still tense and awkward, steps are being made in order in the right direction to patch it up. Arthur is the one he turns too when things in his life turn for the worse, and as much as he will never admit to it, actually does listen to his advice.
-Canada: His twin brother, the brother that he feels the dire need to protect. As much as he knows he embarrasses and hurts him (even though he doesn't mean too), he still loves him dearly. Certain events (1812) still strike hard when they are mentioned, events that he has tried to forget or to push to the back of his mind. Since his brother came home, he has been living with him and his family until he gets to be back to normal.
-Denmark: His best friend, drinking buddy, and confidant. The two's friendship is deep, spanning across the years and continents. Mathias is one of the few people who he truly trusts, he is like a brother to him. His bro and best friend.
-Texas: His most loyal state and one of his most trusted confidants. Christine is a lady that he trusts with his life, and considers her to be a sister. Being as dense as he can be, he hasn't noticed the crush that she has on him. Regardless, he does care deeply about her and given the chance would protect her to the end.
-Russia: Complete hatred and pure loathing. Russia can be seen as one of Alfred's biggest enemies and rivals. He can't stand this man, and thinks he's nothing more than a psychotic, fat-ass communist. There are many things that he can never forgive this man for (Cold War, kidnapping of his brother and others, etc.), maybe one day by a miracle relationships will patch up.
-Argentina: She is one of his dearest and closest friends despite being his ex, seeing her much like that of an older sister. Even though he knows she is strong and can take care of herself, he is still very protective of her. He knows of her past along with things about her that he knows no one else knows but would never dare tell anyone else. She is one of the people that he trusts the most and serves as a confidant to him, as well as doing the same for her.

History: (Will be adding onto this)
The first actual recorded history of America was when Columbus landed on the island of Hispanola in 1492 leading to the discovery of the New World, though British colonials didn't begin to emerge until 1497. Through the 1500's, the Spaniards moved upward through Mexico after the conquests of the Mayan and Aztec empires and upward into the new country. From 1524 up to 1565 when the now-city of St. Augustine, Flordia was founded by Spanish settlers. The Roanoke colony in 1587 became the first English settlement in Virginia, but was later found abandoned in 1590. The first formal English colony that actually survived was the colony of Jamestown in 1607, later slavery was brought into the country in 1619 and the Mayflower contract being signed only a year later. Through the 1630's up till the 1640's, different colonies as well as universities were beginning to be founded such as Harvard College and Delaware as examples. The 1640's were the beginning of wars among the native people of the land, such as the war against the French and the Iroqoius tribe and the Third Anglo–Powhatan War.
With changes in the monarchy in England, charters were made for new colonies such as the signing of the treaty by William Penn to create the colony of Pennsylvania. Through the 1690's, mass witch hysteria runs rampant through New England, mainly in the town of Salem, Massachusetts. The early 1700's were relatively quiet, however changed with the end of the French and Indian War leading to the beginning of the Seven Years War in 1754; among the conflict, the Albany Congress proposes a “Union Among the Colonies.” Where the trouble really begins for relations with the British and Colonists. With the Treaty of Paris being signed in 1763, it marks the beginning of the Revolutionary Era. With taxes and different acts being placed on the colonists such as taxes on tea, sugar, papers goods, etc. as well as making it a law to have the colonists house the British soldiers began to push the thoughts of the colonists toward Revolution. Battles, massacres, and acts of rebellion took place all through the 1760's, the most infamous and well-known being the Boston Massacre of 1770 and the Boston Tea Party in 1773. With the passing of the Intolerable Acts in 1774, it pushed the colonists over the edge. The First Continental Congress is formed, and the Declaration of Independence is signed on July 4, 1776. The war continued up until the seige of Yorktown, where the British surrendered on October 19, 1781. Britain informally acknowledged their independence in 1782, and the war officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783. The Constitution went into full effect in 1789, with President George Washington becoming the first President of the United States of America.
From the 1790's up through the 1850's, America along with trying to get on it's feet began to begin to show it's power as a new Nation with the assistance of the Texas War for Independence from Mexico and the US-Mexico War. However in the end of the 1850's, debates between the North and South over the issue of slavery began to rise, leading to the Civil War from 1861-1865. With the Confederacy led by Robert E. Lee and the Union led by General Grant; battles such as Fort Sumpter and Gettysburg paved the way to the Union victory, only to be sealed by the Battle of Appomatox with Union victory. The war leaving the country divided and struggling to become one who nation again, continued to lead to many more problems in the new coming century.
The Roaring Twenties with Prohibition and mob bootlegging of liquour, the excessive lifestyle that the Americans were leading along with the creation of machinery for mass-production helped lead to the Stock Market Crash of 1929, leading to the Great Depression. With FDR's promise for a “New Deal” to get the country out of the Depression, while not working brought Americans a new hope to get the whole country out of a time of crisis. Only when the United States joined WWII after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 did the country's economy begin to take a turn for the better. After German surrender, the war in the Pacific Front began with Japan. After the death of FDR and the instation of Harry Truman, it was decided that the war had run to long and to test America's new weapon created from the Manhattan Project. Two atomic bombs were dropped in 1945, one in Hiroshima and one in Nagasaki. Japan surrendered to the Allies not a week later.
America soon allied themselves with South Korea in October 1950 against North Korea, Russia, and China, and remained until the Armistrice in 1953. The Civil Rights movement began and ending in 1964 with the Civil Rights Act to end racial segregation across the nation along with the Cold War against the USSR. Such things as the Space Race in 1957 and the “Red Scare” of Communism swept through the nation. America officially joined in the war in Vietnam in 1961 up till the end in 1975. in 1973, the Watergate Scandal involving President Nixon occurs with secret tapes being found in Nixon's office and in 1974 is pardoned by President Ford for “any crimes that he may have committed against the country.” President Bush along with the Soviet leader released statements in 1989 claiming that the Cold War was coming to an end with it coming officially to an end in 1991 however only leading to the beginning of the Gulf War. Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995, President Clinton in 1997 claiming that the government would provide funding for clone research, leading into the Lewinski Scandel of 1998. The beating death of Matthew Shepard of 1998 lead to the nation-wide reflection of homophobia, in 1999, the shooting at Columbine High School and the Y2K scare for the new millinium.
Economic growth and terroristic attacks launched the 2000's. With the 2001 attack on the New York Trade Centers along with attacks using anthrax leading to the Patriot Act of 2001. From 2003-Current the “Iraqi War on Terror” and the search for Osama Bin Laden and the war against Al Quida and Saddam Hussein really began. Hurricane Katrina in 2005 devastated the South, particurally in the lower parts of Louisianna and causing many people to flee from their homes and take refuge in nearby states which in turn caused the country to band together to help the places hit the hardest. (Speaking from experience, I went to New Orleans that Spring Break after the hurricane occurred to help with the clean-up. College students from all over the country went to New Orleans to help with the gutting and stripping of houses that were submerged under water.) The Recession officially began in 2007, and President Barack Obama became the first African-American president in the history of the nation.

"Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." -Ernest Hemingway
Bombs falling. Cities disappearing in a dark cloud of smoke. People screaming. Then...Nothing. He found himself standing in an ocean of blood off of a beach of burnt flesh, his hands soaked and dripping with the blood of innocents. The tears couldn't stop falling, continually shaky repeated words of "I'm sorry" filled his ears. At first quiet...Steadily rising to full anguished screams. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't mean for this to happen! I-I-I'm sorry!"
"あなたのせい. あなたのせい. あなたのせい. あなたのせい."
The horrible voices filled his ears, eyes squeezing closed as his hands covered his ears in a vain attempt to block out the voices that continuously haunted him. "I told you I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Please...Please...Forgive me...Forgive me..." His eyes cracked open, he could only watch as the sky turned the color of blood and ash, arms and hands rising from within the grotesque depths before fingers wrapped around the fabric of his uniform. With one swift movement pulled him under with a loud yelp, with nothing but his glasses brushing up to the shore from the crimson waves.
"我々は許すことはありません."
__________
"NO!" Alfred didn't even realize he had screamed out loud at first until he saw that he was in the sanctity of his own house...His own bedroom...His own bed. He was deathly pale and trembling, body drenched with cold sweat, and his own face stained with tears. He felt his shaky hand reach upward to wipe at his sweat and tear-drenched face, head shaking as he fumbled for his glasses. The nightmare again. That God damn nightmare, one of the many that haunted his nights with cruel whispers filling his ears with promises of no forgiveness. No peace. The continual reminders of his sins long, and not so long past. God damn it. Here he was...Shaking like a lost puppy caught out in the rain without his owner.
Finally finding his glasses and putting them on the bridge of his nose, he looked down at his sleeping wife with a tiny smile. Lightly brushing his bangs out of his face and pushing himself out of bed, he snuck out of the room and just let his feet take him where they wanted to take him. He didn't even realize he had gone down the stairs and found his favorite chair until he felt fingers clenching at the armrests.
Every night. Every night it was a different nightmare, but each one a constant reminder of his past. The chilling voices that even during his waking hours continued to whisper in his ears, voices claiming that he was nothing more than a heartless, soulless monster. A murderer. Nothing more than a legal assassin under the guise of a heroic being wanting to do nothing but the "best" for the world.
The faces of those that he had killed both directly and indirectly, all in the name of war and his heroic duty. His...Duty.
That's what it was, wasn't it? He didn't know...All he knew that for the past seventy years he had lied to everyone about that day and what really happened, even he himself began to believe his own story.
War.
Japan.
Battle.
Bombs.
Blood.
Death.
Truman.
Harry Truman. The one who had taken over after old man FDR passed on...He didn't know how...Or even why...Somehow...Truman had managed to find out some of his own darkest secrets. Secrets that he had tried to lock from his memory forever, memories that he was still ashamed of himself for. All of the lives that he destroyed long before WWII. Times when he thirsted for more...When...He...Then...
The Depression. Becoming a single father to raise his young son alone. Trying his best to right the wrongs that he had caused amidst his own depression, but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't...
Just a long, red string of events that Truman somehow managed to find out about. He remembered that day so clearly, that day when he was called back home from the Pacific Front. The day where a large manila folder was thrown in front of him and a proposition was made. A proposition about the new weapon that had been created, a proposition about wanting to 'test it on the perfect test subject.' The look that man had on his face, one that was so calm...So composed...But with the smile of a power-hungry monster.
Truman had information on him that he had never told...Anyone. Information that if it ever got out in the open would completely destroy him, destroy everything that he had worked so hard to build. That calm voice as he spoke, that all he had to do was sign the papers. He wouldn't have to bloody his hands, he wouldn't be the one killing those people. He wouldn't be held responsible for their deaths, that it would bring the war to a speedy end. If he didn't sign the papers, then he would have no choice but to leak the information out to the press so the world would know that their dear little golden boy who could do no wrong was really nothing more than a legal killer. The promise that not only would he ruin him, but his son as well. With the coming and the makings of the beginnings of the communist scare, how would the people react to find that their capital was a half-blood? The son of a communist and could he actually allow that to happen for the boy who was only barely fourteen?
In hindsight...He shouldn't have succumb to the threats, the ultimatum that his long-dead boss had given. He knew now what he was thinking about that day. He wasn't thinking about himself, he was thinking about his boy who had since grown up. Daniel at that point was all that he felt that he had, he didn't want to see his future ruined because of his decision. With the signing of his name on those pieces of paper, even though he wasn't the one in those planes that were dropping the bombs...He as good as did. That tight, punched in the gut feeling immediately kicked when he signed his name. He was no better than a cowardly assassin, taking out his targets under the dark of night though in his case...The guise of ending the war quickly.
Lies. All lies.
He was no better than a Repoman like in that one movie, killing behind a mask...Behind closed doors. That day when the bombs were dropped when he had gotten the news of the toll, he had found himself holed in his office along with several bottles of whiskey. He couldn't face what he had done. Thousands dead. Thousands of innocents dead because of him. He that day became one to be feared. Truman got what he wanted...He got to test the ultimate weapon, got to prove the might of the United States...At a great cost. That day...He had truly become a monster.
Assassin. Murderer. Monster. Villian. Killer.
Maybe that was why he saved Japan that day. Saved him in some morbid, twisted effort to try and redeem himself from making a deal with the devil and turning his back on his own beliefs, morals, everything he stood for. Redeem himself from his sacrilegious dance with the devil the moment he signed those papers.
Feeling his hand rising and pushing his bangs out of his face, his head gave a firm shake. Damn it. He knew he would have to confront these demons sooner or later...He knew that he owed them an explanation. He couldn't. Not now. He could tell no one what really occurred that day behind those closed doors, he was to ashamed of himself too.
Wiping his eyes with his hand, he pushed himself upward and out of his seat to go back to his room to try and sleep. Though...He didn't know if he could, or ever could until his burdens from back then were confronted and erased forever.
They wouldn't, and they never would. He was to much of a coward. He would continue to be wrapped in that red string with the end being held by he honestly didn't know who. All he could do was continue to walk forward, and try and escape from the plague of demons that continued to haunt him.
Look what I've become
